Many black homeschoolers face hostility in mainstream groups when seeking inclusive curricula. Exhausted by microaggressions and “colorblind” gatekeeping, these families are building their own Afrocentric villages. These safe spaces provide the essential cultural affirmation and support black homeschoolers need to educate freely, prioritizing their children’s well-being over exclusionary mainstream environments.
